The technical work
behind your next release.

Bring us in for a specific task or a connected development project. The scope starts with what your product needs.

01

Patterns & grading

Shape / fit / size

Turn a design, reference or existing garment into a defined pattern. Develop the base size, resolve construction details and extend the fit across an agreed size range.

Scope may include
  • Base pattern development and adjustments
  • Grading and measurement specifications
  • Pattern files in agreed factory formats
02

Technical documentation

Details / materials / measures

Give the factory a complete technical reference for your garment. We document seam types, construction details, materials, colours and measurements in a controlled tech pack.

Scope may include
  • Technical drawings, seam types and construction details
  • Materials, colour specifications and measurement tables
  • Complete tech packs with agreed revision history
03

3D apparel design

Proportion / construction / fit

Create clothing models from your brief or develop an existing design in 3D. Explore shape, proportions, materials and colours, with physical validation planned where fit or construction needs it.

Scope may include
  • Garment design and development in CLO 3D
  • Agreed material, colour and design variations
  • Digital models and views in agreed delivery formats
04

Sampling follow-up

Review / resolve / revise

Keep sample development moving with technical coordination between your brand and atelier. We check quality, fit and construction, identify errors and follow agreed corrections through to final sample delivery, within the contracted rounds and schedule.

Scope may include
  • Sample measurement, fit and construction checks
  • Consolidated comments and correction tracking
  • Atelier coordination across agreed sample rounds
05

Production follow-up

Pre-production / checkpoints

Review pre-production samples and follow production against approved specifications at agreed checkpoints. Support is remote, with occasional factory visits quoted according to location, objectives and availability.

Scope may include
  • Pre-production sample review and technical comments
  • Documented deviations and follow-up on corrections
  • Remote coordination and agreed on-site visits
02 / Approach

Clear scope.
Connected decisions.

01 —

Define the work

Tell us what you are developing, what already exists and where you need support. We review the inputs and agree the deliverables, revisions, fee and schedule.

02 —

Resolve the detail

Patterns, specifications and materials are developed together where needed. Decisions are documented, with clear points for your review.

03 —

Move it forward

Receive the agreed technical files and support for the next stage. Sampling or production follow-up uses defined rounds, checkpoints and approval responsibilities.

Have a manufacturer already? We can work with your existing partner. Physical sampling, materials and production costs are agreed separately from studio fees.

Development
with production
in mind.

Flatfell is an independent technical apparel development studio founded by Luís, a patternmaker and product development professional.

The work connects a brand’s product intent with the information a manufacturer needs to build it. We work with fashion, sportswear, outdoor and technical casual brands on individual services and connected projects.

A few practical details

Before we begin.

Can I book just one service?

Yes. A project can be a specific task, such as documenting an approved style or adjusting a pattern, or a connected development brief. We first check that the inputs are sufficient for the work you need.

How are projects priced?

Each proposal is based on the garment, existing files, deliverables and revision rounds. You receive an agreed scope and fee before work starts. The studio’s standard starting point is a 50% advance.

Can you work with my factory?

Yes. We can coordinate remotely with your atelier or factory, with occasional production visits quoted separately. The proposal defines checkpoints and who approves each stage. The manufacturer carries out production and corrections; supplier costs are paid directly by the client.

What should I send to get started?

A short description of the product, its current stage and the help you need. Design references, existing patterns, tech packs or sample images are useful if you have them. We will confirm which materials are needed before quoting.
